Families should receive direct notice when serious school danger meets the bill’s defined triggers.
Parent notice is a communication standard. It gives families direct information after the most serious campus danger while protecting student identities and private records.
The public question is simple: when the danger is serious, families should not have to rely on rumors, screenshots, or secondhand messages to understand what happened and what the school is doing next.
HB4109 (“Michael’s Law”)
The bill creates a serious-danger notice standard without exposing student identities.
The bill is built around three public expectations: families receive notice, students keep privacy, and schools use written procedures.
When the trigger is serious enough, families deserve an accurate notice path. The standard does not require schools to publish student names, student records, immigration status, or private family information.
